HEART of SHAPES

KEIKO + MANABU

NOV 22, 2008 – FEB 8, 2009

CONCEPT

Countless massive structures will flood the DIESEL DENIM GALLERY. These cookie-cutter like structures form ♥♦★ are simple and playful shapes that resemble children's toys and comic balloons. Crawl through, cuddle inside, and wander between ♥♦★; this experience is extraordinary but also tickles your mind with nostalgia of secret hide-away from our childhood. ♥♦★ structures are made with recycled paperboards using its strength and flexibility. Waste paper collected from homes and offices were recycled into the paperboards. During exhibition, they form surreal space in the gallery. At the end, they will be melted down and recycled back to have another form in everyday world.
