Hiroki Tsukuda is a young artist currently living in Tokyo, who was born in Kagawa 1978, and graduated Department of Imaging Arts and Sciences of Musashino Art University. Tsukuda’s works that represent his unique world view though a wide range of media such as graphics, paintings, sculptural works and videos have been presented mainly in commercial creative fields such as in fashion and record jacket in large numbers. The works attract to a lot of attention mainly by young generation who adhere to Robot animations, SF movies and SF comics that fueled a craze in 70s and 80s.

In this exhibition titled “doctrine”, Tsukuda will exhibit a large 2 dimensional installation work, projected image, and some sculptural works. These are all Tsukuda’s new works and especially a series of an installation work that utilized OHP and canvas is a new challenge of Tsukuda who tires to capture human’s visual perception.

As Tsukuda comments on this exhibition; “I think that the exploration of art is closely related to the attitude of a religion that quests for truth. There are a number of justices in this world but much the same is true on the concept of beauty. If so, there seems no such “doctrine of beauty”. What on earth is the universal beauty? I have kept casting doubt on it”.
