Expressing “another Shibuya” shaped by Ochiai’s aesthetics
DIESEL ART GALLERY is pleased to present Aesthetics, a solo exhibition by artist Shohei Ochiai From October 24, 2025 (Fri) to January 12, 2026 (Sun).
Concept
The district of Shibuya is characterized by the constant clash of busyness and bustle, light and sound. However, stepping into a side street can reveal an unexpected scene of stillness—a world where one can observe the vastness of the sky and discover abundant greenery.
These small, often overlooked scenes hidden behind the hustle and bustle caught Ochiai’s eye as he walked the streets of Shibuya. Whenever he encountered them, he would pause gazing in appreciation.
Ochiai’s “Aesthetics” lie within the “things that are overlooked”.
The serenity within the storm of Shibuya, the blue sky endlessly unfolding beyond the crowds, and the surprisingly lush greenery—these are the inspirations for the pieces in this show. This body of work creates “Another Shibuya,” shaped by Ochiai’s aesthetic eye. Here, we can observe the ordinary, unrefined yet somehow familiar scenes that still linger within Shibuya, scenes that people blindly hurry past without noticing. This exhibition presents the Shibuya we know but seen from a fresh perspective. Please enjoy this new Shibuya, born from the aesthetics of Shohei Ochiai.
Throughout the exhibition, new works will be added periodically, ensuring that visitors can always enjoy something new.
In addition to the presentation and sale of new works, limited-edition goods created especially for the exhibition, as well as a collaboration hoodie with DIESEL, will also be available.
BIOGRAPHY
Shohei Ochiai

Born in Omiya, Saitama. Graduated from the Product Design Department of Tama Art University. Has presented paintings and drawings depicting daily items. Known for dynamic, unpredictable forms, three-dimensional depth, and bold, expressive lines.
Expanding activities both in Japan and internationally, the artist has contributed works to "JOOPITER," a digital auction house founded by Pharrell Williams. In 2023, held a solo exhibition, THIS IS OCHIAI SHOHEI, at YUKIKO MIZUTANI in Terrada Art Complex II. In 2024, continued to expand internationally with projects such as the launch of a collaboration collection in partnership with NEW ERA. This year, he released the collaborative “Original Tamagotchi” and also began offering his works through “JOOPITER Marketplace”.
